Take-home note

A no-rehearsal Christmas pageant Luke 2:1–20; Matthew 2:1–12

Today in Sunday school

Today your child took part in the Christmas pageant. The children told the story of Jesus’ birth from Luke 2 and Matthew 2, from the long walk to Bethlehem to the wise men who followed a star. Every child who wanted a part had one, because the angel said the good news is for all the people.

Talk about it

  • Who were you in the pageant? What did you do?
  • What was your favorite part of the story?
  • Who could you tell the good news to this Christmas?

Try this at home

Read Luke 2:1–20 together on Christmas Eve. Act it out with stuffed animals and a doll, and let your child be the narrator.

Pray together

Dear God, thank you for the good news of Jesus, which is for all the people. Fill our home with joy and peace this Christmas. Amen.
