Love: Mary says yes Luke 1:26–38
Today was the fourth Sunday of Advent, when many churches light the candle of love. Your child heard how the angel Gabriel visited Mary in Nazareth (Luke 1:26–38). Gabriel told Mary not to be afraid, because God loved her and had chosen her to be the mother of Jesus. Mary said yes. In Jesus, God’s love came close to us all.
Write short love notes to each other this week, such as “I’m glad you’re you” or “Thank you for helping me,” and hide them for someone to find. Set the message angel near your nativity set or on your table.
Dear God, thank you for loving us so much that you came to be with us in Jesus. Help us say yes to your love. Amen.
